1. Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how ZMatrix AI Companion for Android handles information. The app is published by Halonex Labs Private Limited ("Halonex", "we").
In short
Your conversations stay on your phone. ZMatrix AI Companion runs AI models on your phone itself. It has no account, no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not receive your chats, your prompts, the models you use or anything about how you use the app. The app connects to the internet only when you look for or download a model.
2. What stays on your phone
Everything the app uses is kept in its own private storage on your phone:
- Models you download. Kept on your phone and left out of Android backups and device transfers, so they are downloaded again on a new phone. Delete them in Models or Settings ▸ Storage.
- Your chats. Saved on your phone only and never sent anywhere.
- Your settings and statistics. Chat Defaults, pins, drafts and the counts shown in Activity and Usage (messages, tokens and speed) are stored on your phone only.
The app keeps no logs of your prompts or the model's replies.
2.1 Android backup
If you use Android's backup (to your Google Account) or move to a new phone with Android's transfer tool, your chats and settings are included, like other app data, under Google's terms. Models are never included. You can turn backup off in your phone's settings.
3. When the app uses the internet
The app makes network connections only for these purposes:

What Hugging Face does with these requests is governed by Hugging Face's privacy policy. Once a model is downloaded, chatting with it needs no network at all and works in airplane mode.
Large model downloads wait for Wi-Fi unless you allow mobile data, and the app checks your connection type only to decide this.
4. Permissions the app asks for
- Internet and network state: to download models and to wait for Wi-Fi before a large download.
- Notifications: to show a download's progress and tell you when a model is ready. Your phone shows the notification itself; no notification server is involved.
- Background downloads: a download keeps running while the app is in the background, with its progress shown in a notification.
The app does not ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or phone calls.
5. Crash reports
The app does not send crash reports to us itself. If you allowed your phone to share usage and diagnostics data, Google Play may share crash reports for this app with us under Google's own terms. They contain technical details about the crash, not your chats.
6. What we collect
Nothing. Halonex does not collect, store, sell or share personal data from the app, and the app's Google Play Data safety section says so. If you email us, we receive what you choose to send and use it only to answer you.
7. Deleting your data
Because your data never reaches us, you control all of it on your phone:
- Settings ▸ Forget Everything removes your chats, statistics and settings, and can delete your models too.
- Deleting a chat or a model removes it from your phone.
- Uninstalling the app (or clearing its storage in your phone's settings) removes everything it kept on the phone.
Data you shared with Hugging Face is handled under its policy.
8. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age set by the law where you live) and collects no personal data from anyone.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in substance, we will update this page and the app will show the new version before you continue.
